All About GSTARS
GSTARS' mission is to inspire a lasting love and appreciation for the Arts through the highest quality of training, innovative choreography and unique experiences whilst striving for excellence. We provide this in a safe and supportive family environment and pride ourselves on encouraging students to reach their fullest potential, building on their self-discipline and self esteem to become more than an Artist. Every student is important and matters to us at GSTARS. We promote equal opportunities for all ages and abilities to discover and develop their own versatility. This allows students to celebrate the creative process and to grow and excel on their own individual journey in their Arts education.
GSTARS has regular timetabled classes in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre, Tap, Street, Contemporary, Commercial, Cheerleading and Acro Dance. There are separate sessions for adults, and we also run 2 'Boys Only' Street Dance groups. We offer Singing Lessons and Musical Theatre Classes at our Royston Studio. Alongside our term-time timetables GSTARS run holiday clubs, day trips and theatre visits and we also participate in numerous local events and performances.
Our performances include a WWII festival in Letchworth, the Royston Arts Festival, London’s 3D Summit with Sir David Attenborough as Guest Speaker (where we were filmed live in Sky’s 3D Truck), Her Majesty’s Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall and the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. We are regular visitors to London's annual 'Move It' dance exhibition, and our West End Theatre trips have included Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker Ballet, Matilda the Musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and most recently Matthew Bournes Swan Lake, The Snowman and Blaze. We have attended the Scotland Dance Summer School, competed at the International Ballet Festival in Bulgaria, were Regional Champions for the Dance: Make Your Move competition and have danced at Italy's 'Sportilia'. All of these performance and events are voluntary, but are always great fun, and offer the children an opportunity to put their dance skills into practice.
